THE PROGRAM
The ALI Peacebuilding and Leadership program takes place in Washington, D.C., where young women+ learn how to engage in skill building experiential learning in conflict transformation, peace negotiations, and cross-cultural dialogue. During the course, the small group of carefully selected aspiring leaders from various countries develop advocacy, messaging, facilitation, and leadership skills. ALI works to connect each participant to further mentorship in their home community after the course to advance their skills and support the implementation of their capstone projects.
The Andi Leadership Institute for Young Women's curriculum is experiential and interactive, challenging and reflective. Learning techniques include: projects, experiments, substantive discussions, field trips, and case studies.
Participants learn from and become inspired by stories of the role of women+ in leadership and peacebuilding processes from around the globe.
Participants learn and experience, first hand, the importance of developing relationships with each other through trust building and teamwork activities. They create an integral network with one another for support and feedback as they evolve into young adults and leaders in their communities.
